Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 in the Olympic contest. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci when she was just the age of six. In 1969, she participated at the Romanian Junior Olympics which she finished 13th. She won in 1970. Three gold medals were awarded in her debut competition, a junior pre-Olympic meet in 1972 for communist bloc countries. In 1973 and 1974, she was the junior all-around champion. She won four gold and one silver in the first competition of her senior level and was held in the year 1975. This was the first time she competed as an adult. She won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She became the first woman in history to dismount the parallel bars and to use double backwards salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she was performing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business at the age of a teenager. Early on Carol started out as a figure skater in the traveling show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They featured staged ice skating spectacles.
